Location: Dingley Village, Melbourne, Victoria

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Managing Partner to join and lead our Accounting and Tax team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading and managing client engagements, developing and mentoring onshore and offshore staff, and contributing to the overall growth and success of the firm. This role requires extensive experience in accounting and taxation, exceptional leadership skills, a strong business development acumen and an ability to think of innovative ways to make the business more efficient. Competitive base salary + performance bonuses + future equity is available for the right candidate.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage multiple client engagements, ensuring the highest quality of service. Expected to track at 90%+ for ATO lodgements being on time.

• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor.

• Mentor and develop junior onshore and offshore staff, providing guidance and support for their professional growth.

• Drive business development efforts, identifying and pursuing new opportunities for the business via leveraging a list of targets present in the Ziku financial advice and lending businesses.

• In the first 12 months, oversee the planning, execution, and completion of an efficiency program to bring the business up to industry standard on debtor collection, increasing subscription revenue to smooth out revenue collection and the offshoring of the majority of individual tax returns to the Ziku Global offshore team.

• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and professional standards.

• Actively collaborate with shareholders and senior leaders in the Ziku Advice and Lending businesses to develop and implement strategic initiatives to grow the Ziku Capital business as a whole.

• Manage financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and profitability of the Ziku Accounting business to pre-determined KPI’s.

• Represent the firm at industry events and conferences, enhancing the firm's reputation and visibility.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) designation required.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in public/private practice accounting, with a focus on personal and small to medium business taxation covering sole traders, company’s and trusts.

• Proven track record of successful client management and business development working with small to medium sized clients across various industries.

• Strong leadership and team management skills. Expectation is that the ideal candidate has managed 1-2 junior/senior staff over their career to date.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Expected to provide clear and transparent communication to wider shareholder group on a regular basis.

• Deep knowledge of accounting principles (accrual vs cash accounting, general purpose vs special purpose financial statements etc.), standards, and regulations (Complex GST and Div 293 etc).

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

• Previous experience as a Senior Manager/Accountant in a mid-tier or Big Four accounting firm would be highly regarded.

• Proficiency with accounting software and technology, specifically Xero and Xero Practice Manager.
